Breast Procedures
Breast Lift
A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure designed to raise and reshape sagging breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. A breast lift restores a more youthful breast contour and improves breast position without significantly changing breast size.
Changes in the breasts can occur due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging, weight fluctuations, and genetics.
You may be a candidate for a breast lift if your breasts:
- Have lost shape and firmness
- Sag or droop due to aging, pregnancy, or weight loss
- Have nipples that point downward or sit below the breast crease
- Have stretched skin and enlarged areolas
- Appear uneven or asymmetrical
- Lack youthful contour and projection
Breast lift consultation
The first step in breast lift surgery is scheduling a consultation with Dr. Tran. During your consultation, we will discuss:
- Your goals and desired appearance
- Medical history, medications, and allergies
- Previous breast surgeries or procedures
- Breast anatomy, skin elasticity, and nipple position
- Surgical techniques and recovery expectations
Our staff will also review before and after photos of previous breast lift patients to help you better understand potential outcomes.
Breast lift procedure
Breast lift surgery is customized based on each patient’s anatomy and desired result. The procedure generally involves removing excess skin, reshaping breast tissue, and repositioning the nipples to create a firmer and more youthful appearance.

Breast lift incision techniques
Periareolar lift
An incision is made around the areola to address mild breast sagging and improve nipple position.
Anchor lift
For more significant breast sagging, an additional incision is placed along the breast crease to allow greater reshaping and tightening.
Preparing for your breast lift surgery
Before surgery, patients may be instructed to:
- Obtain a mammogram if appropriate
- Stop smoking before and after surgery
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications and supplements
- Arrange transportation and postoperative support
What to expect after your breast lift surgery
Following surgery, patients receive detailed postoperative instructions regarding:
- Surgical bra or compression garment usage
- Activity restrictions and incision care
- Medications and follow-up appointments
- Recovery timeline and healing expectations

Breast lift recovery
Swelling, bruising, and temporary soreness are common during the initial recovery period. Most patients return to light activities within one to two weeks, though strenuous exercise should be avoided during early healing.
Breast lift results
As swelling improves, patients notice firmer, more elevated, and youthful breast contours. Results are long lasting but may continue to change naturally with aging, pregnancy, and weight fluctuations.
